Matted images consist of two mats (not to be confused with being double matted). An outer mat, measuring the next standard image size up from the print (16"x20" mat for a 11"x14" print, 11"x14" mat for 8"x10" print) with an opening just slightly smaller than the measured size. A backing mat sits directly behind the front mat. The print is sandwiched in between.

The default color mat for all of my prints, unless otherwise specified, is black. If you want something other than black, you must e-mail me prior to order confirmation.
